melissamodelThe magic behind the lens is our talented photographer Melissa O’Hearn (that’s her in the top photo, natch). She is able to translate our vision like nobody’s business. Needless to say we’re big fans and always look forward to working with her!

Behind the scenes – All dressed up

wardrobeeuniceWe had a lot of fun selecting the wardrobe for the shoot. We wanted it to be ladylike with a sense of adventure. It wouldn’t be a photoshoot without some wardrobe snags (no pun intended), such as half of our pieces getting stuck in Montana due to rock slides. But that’s what keeps it interesting.

Also check out Eunice! She documented the last photo shoot for you, and now she’s one of our models!

Up in the air

historic flightbadkittybomberstarpropellerWell actually we were down on the ground. Here’s the first behind the scenes peek of our most recent photoshoot. We were so fortunate to be able to shoot at Historic Flight at Paine Field in Everett, Washington. Our aviation vision really came to life in front of the restored collection of planes ranging from 1927 – 1957.

You will see the majority of our new images sitting pretty with the Waco (pronounced like taco), a stunning, lightweight plane constructed of stretched canvas over a wood frame, then painted in the perfect combination of kelly green and ivory.

If you’re in the Seattle area, we highly recommend a visit to Historic Flight. Sure to wow adults and kids alike! Plus stay tuned for more behind the scenes at Nest!

mi amorWe have a great fondness for the brand Lucky Fish, as modeled by our resident beautiful baby Ever. The Mi Amor print is just so sweet, and the technique of the graphic makes it feel more like an heirloom piece rather than something you just purchased.

One of the reasons we love Lucky Fish so much, is that they have pieces for baby and Mom. It’s only fair. Check out these fun and interesting pillows. The colors are fantastic, and they really do have something for everyone.homespr2010
